Singing heart wearied…
Burdened by well-meaning thoughts and expectations,
Tired of the overwhelming waters
Yet restful in the storm.
Demands and exhaustion
Cannot conquer my spirit.
My Father is mightier than the punishing waves
That over me roll…
They will never be triumphant.
I stand in the surf
Face to the wind
Breathing Him in lest I quit breathing.
Sun-rising glorious
Clear day
Fresh start each moment
He will never leave me.
My troubles will dissolve
Like vapor before the sun…
Burning to high heaven no longer seen.
Forgotten.
Forgiven.
Like my own offenses…
I choose to let go.
I walk forward.
I live…
Princess…
Daughter of the Most High…
Breathing.
“The LORD rules over the floodwaters. The LORD reigns as king forever.”
Psalm 29:10 NLT

This is one of my favorite poems from my childhood… Makes one think.

Ozymandias
by Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear –
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.’
God, take this new year
Make it better than the last.
So fill our hearts with dreams and plans
That we burst with new wine…
Vision and power…
Success and contentment.
Let us not waste each precious moment.
For you gift to the children of men time
To use wisely.
So help us, Lord, to enjoy this time You give,
Please guide our feet and hold our hands.
Lead us, Lord.

As you celebrate Christmas this year, please remember Jesus whose birth we are celebrating.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!
“Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of Jehovah revealed? For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground; He has no form nor majesty that we should see Him, nor an appearance that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgression of My people He was stricken. And He put His grave with the wicked, and with a rich one in His death; although He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased Jehovah to crush Him; to grieve Him; that He should put forth His soul as a guilt-offering. He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the will of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul. He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many; and He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide to Him with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death; and He was counted among the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.”
